Your new companyThis multi-academy trust has a strong presence in the Greater Manchester area and, due to recent growth and new schools joining, they have approached Hays seeking an IT Manager to join their team based in Oldham. As IT Manager, you will report to the Trust's IT Director and will become an integral part of the wider support staff team at the trust, all with the common goal of providing an excellent service to ensure that standards are high. The secondary school where you will be based is an outstanding school, with over 10 buildings on site, and it is therefore an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join the success story. Your new roleAs Trust IT Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of technicians to provide a high level of IT support to the trust, whilst focusing on the successful delivery of IT projects across the organisation. From a leadership perspective, you will oversee a team of 3 technicians and will support them in further developing their skills and knowledge, ensuring they are delivering an exceptional level of service. From a technical perspective, you will be responsible for the management of the school network, delivering upgrade projects across the trust, introducing new technologies, working closely with the IT Director around a cyber response and strategic plan and working with bespoke educational technologies. This is an important role for the trust, which will continue to evolve and develop as the trust grows, therefore providing the opportunity for the successful candidate to further develop and also progress their career. What you'll need to succeedIn order to be successful in securing this position, you will have significant IT management or network manager experience, ideally with a strong background working in th education sector. It is imperative that you have excellent communication and relationship building skills, as well as a real passion for IT and the desire to further develop your skills and progress your career. Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Active Directory and networking will also be essential. You will receive 25 days holiday, rising to 33 with service and also with the option to receive an additional 2 days per year.
