Our client, an OEM with multiple production lines and on-site final assembly, seeks to appoint a Lean Engineer to join their expanding team. The appointed Lean Engineer will have a full apprenticeship served with a reputable manufacturer, innovative ideas on ways to reduce waste, cut costs and reduce build time, and recent experience in a shop floor based role. This role would suit a Lean Coordinator or Lean Facilitator looking for a step into a more senior role or a Quality Engineer, Production Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer looking for a move into a purely lean focused role.

Lean Engineer - Role and Responsibilities:

 - Devise ways to improve OEE and reduce machine downtime
 - Run training seminars for shop floor staff on 5S, SMED, Poke Yoke, 5Whys, general lean principles, etc
 - Reduce inefficiency in build processes
 - Identify opportunities to eliminate waste
 - 4D/8D experience, CAPA, Root Cause Analysis

Lean Engineer - Skills and Abilities: 

 - Practical apprenticeship served with a manufacturing business
 - Formal lean, continuous improvement or six sigma training preferred
 - Experience of running shop floor workshops and training seminars
 - Knowledge of Quality, Maintenance, Design and Production
 - Experienced with modern Lean Manufacturing and Production Engineering techniques
