About Us
Our School is a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) school that supports young people aged 11-16 with a variety of needs, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties, and complex learning needs. Our mission is to provide a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment where every child can achieve their full potential.
The Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Youth Worker to join our team. As a Youth Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting the social, emotional, and academic development of our students. You will work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure a holistic approach to each student's education.
Key Responsibilities
- Build positive and trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and participation.
- Provide 1:1 or group support to students with diverse needs, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Facilitate activities and programs that promote social skills, emotional regulation, and personal development.
- Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour
- support strategies.
- Work closely with teaching staff to create an inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
- Monitor and report on students' progress, ensuring effective communication with parents and the wider team.
- Support the delivery of extracurricular activities and enrichment programs.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN or SEMH needs (essential).
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A positive, patient, and resilient attitude.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Relevant qualifications in youth work, education, or health and social care are desirable but not essential.
