Are you an experienced Operations Manager with a background in metal fabrication? We're seeking a dynamic leader to oversee 2 Production Sites, part of the growing group of engineering companies.

In this role, you'll manage all aspects of production, quality, and safety for two fabrication sites, ensuring customer satisfaction, efficient operations, and high standards in line with Lean Manufacturing and ISO principles. You'll drive continuous improvement, support sales initiatives, and manage both customer and supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Production Activities: Manage and supervise all production activities, ensuring that production targets are met and quality standards are maintained and improved on.
  • Manage Production Resources: Manage staffing levels, skills and performance to ensure the business can meet and exceed the set plan.
  • Manage Customers: SPOC for all customer escalations. Ensure customer expectations are met and exceeded in accordance with business expectations.
  • Manage Suppliers: Monitor and manage supplier mix and performance in line with business expectations. Manage productivity and quality aspects of suppliers.
  • Local HR Leader: Manage staff on site properly in accordance with the values and performance metrix of the business. Execute diciplinary proceedures in line with the set process. Develop skills metrix and development plans in line with the business needs, current and future.
  • H&S Leader: Develop, implement and enforce health and safety directives on all Oldham sites. Overall H&S responsibilty for both fabrication sites in Oldham.
  • Equipment Availability and OEE: Ensure all business critical equipment is maintained and serviced properly. Ensure the highest possible availability of the production equipment. Maximize the OEE of every equipment. Ensure the business is future ready in terms of its equipment.
  • Quality Leader: Ensure the Business follows the ISO principles and uses best practices, such as 5 Why and NCR principles. Establish and maintain a strong Quality culture that is moving the business towards Zero Defects. Lead the Quality investigation on every root cause analysis. Report Qulaity metrix back to the GM.
  • Develop and Lead CI Initiatives: Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives in the Fabrication Business in Oldham. Use Lean principles to improve business efficincy and customer experience.
  • Quotation Management: Overall responsibility for the local quoting activity. Ensure quotes are completed in a timly manner (below 48h) and documented properly in line with the business processes. Manage local estimating resources in terms of staffing and qualifications. Overall responsibility that quoted margins can be maintained during the porduction.
  • Sales Responsibility: Support Sales Activities to maximize the ability to generate business from existing customers and potential new customers. Enterntain cusomer meetings and tours.
  • Overall CF Responsibility: Ensure the CF forcast is accurat and maintained. Make decisitions in accordance with the GM to improve the overall CF of the business. Ensure all necessray measures are taken locally to adhere to the documentation required to do so.
  • Overall Margin Responsibility: Set and Ensure Margin targets in line with the GM expectation. Ensure they are understood by every team member on the sites in accordance with their jobs and how they contribute towards them.

Key Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in operations management within fabrication
  • Strong leadership in production and resource management
  • Proficiency in MS365 and MRP systems
  • Expertise in Lean Manufacturing and ISO compliance
