Lead IQA - Engineering (Internal Quality Assurer)

We are seeking an enthusiastic Lead IQA to manage and lead the quality assurance of apprenticeship delivery in the engineering department of our Training Centre.

Reporting to the General Manager, the IQA will be responsible for ensuring that all assessment activities meet the requirements of the various awarding bodies with which we work.

It is expected that the IQA will also have significant involvement in our wider quality assurance and improvement activities to ensure we deliver a high-quality engineering curriculum.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. To review and amend as appropriate the training centre’s current IQA Strategy
  2. To ensure effective and consistent delivery of all qualifications, achieving Awarding Bodies’ and our own standards
  3. Ensure all IQA documentation is completed adhering to Awarding Organisation and company standards
  4. Co-ordinate and undertake EQA visits to ensure Awarding Organisation compliance
  5. Maintain the integrity of all programmes by reporting any suspected malpractice or maladministration
  6. Contribute to the review of our Self-Assessment Report.
  7. Ensure that all Internal Quality Assurance activities are undertaken promptly to ensure the processing of qualifications and learners through to End Point Assessment
  8. Plan, conduct and record sampling activities, observations and support sessions to ensure the development of additional assessors where required
  9. Ensure senior managers and board members are advised of the effectiveness of quality assurance/improvement activities  

Essential qualifications and experience

  • Occupational Competence and qualifications within electrical/mechanical engineering
  • To hold a current A1 Assessing Award or Equivalent
  • To hold a current V1 Internal Quality Assurance Award or Equivalent
  • To hold a recognised qualification forteaching in the Further Education sector 
  • To be confident in using IT systems and processes 
  • To demonstrate clear written and verbal communication skills
