Position: Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant
Contract: Full-Time, Temp to Perm
Are you passionate about supporting the development and learning of young children? Do you thrive in a nurturing and dynamic classroom environment? We are seeking a dedicated Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant primary school in Oldham.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons tailored to Key Stage 1 students.
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to help children meet learning targets.
- Assist with classroom management and help create a positive learning environment.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of creative activities that enhance learning.
- Work with students with varying abilities, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Support the social and emotional development of children, fostering confidence and self-esteem.
- Assist with setting up and tidying classroom materials and resources.
- Supervise children during playtimes, lunchtimes, and on educational outings.
The Ideal Candidate:
- A genuine passion for working with young children in Key Stage 1.
- Previous experience in a classroom setting, preferably within Key Stage 1.
- A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children.
- Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with teachers and staff.
- SEN experience or willingness to support children with additional needs.
- A relevant teaching assistant qualification (Level 2 or above is desirable).
- Paediatric First Aid certification is an advantage.
