Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons tailored to Key Stage 1 students.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to help children meet learning targets.
  • Assist with classroom management and help create a positive learning environment.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of creative activities that enhance learning.
  • Work with students with varying abilities, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Support the social and emotional development of children, fostering confidence and self-esteem.
  • Assist with setting up and tidying classroom materials and resources.
  • Supervise children during playtimes, lunchtimes, and on educational outings.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A genuine passion for working with young children in Key Stage 1.
  • Previous experience in a classroom setting, preferably within Key Stage 1.
  • A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with teachers and staff.
  • SEN experience or willingness to support children with additional needs.
  • A relevant teaching assistant qualification (Level 2 or above is desirable).
  • Paediatric First Aid certification is an advantage.
