Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated Retail IT Business Development Manager with a focus on the sale of EPOS systems, hardware services, and IT solutions for retail clients. This exciting role will be based in Oldham, Manchester, with a flexible hybrid work model for the right candidate. You will be responsible for driving new business opportunities, building relationships with key consultancies, and expanding our footprint in the retail IT market.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the Retail IT industry, including selling EPOS solutions, hardware, and associated services into software, cloud, and Wi-Fi consultancies. A strong understanding of the retail technology ecosystem is essential, as is the ability to engage with consultancies to deliver tailored IT solutions to their clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the retail IT sector, with a focus on EPOS, hardware services, software, cloud solutions, and Wi-Fi consultancies.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including retail consultancies, software, and cloud service providers.
- Sales Strategy: Develop and implement effective sales strategies for introducing and selling EPOS solutions, hardware services, and IT solutions tailored to the retail industry.
- Consultancy Engagement: Collaborate with software, cloud, and Wi-Fi consultancies to position our solutions effectively and meet the unique needs of their retail clients.
- Product Knowledge: Maintain a deep understanding of EPOS systems, retail IT solutions, and the latest trends in retail technology to offer strategic insights to potential clients.
- Negotiation and Closing: Lead sales discussions, proposals, and negotiations, ensuring successful closures of high-value contracts.
- Market Analysis: Stay up to date with market trends, competitive offerings, and emerging retail technology developments to proactively identify growth opportunities.
- Reporting: Track and report on sales progress, forecasts, and KPIs, ensuring transparent communication with senior management and other key stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, product, and technical teams to tailor solutions to meet client needs.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within the Retail IT sector.
- In-depth knowledge of EPOS systems, hardware services, and retail technology solutions.
- Familiarity with software, cloud, and Wi-Fi consultancies and how they operate within the retail space.
- Strong ability to develop and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Results-oriented with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Self-motivated, with a drive to succeed and grow the business.
- Previous experience working with retail clients or consultancies is highly desirable.
