If either of the above applies to you, then great because here at Cover People, we are seeking enthusiastic individuals to work in mainstream secondary schools across Oldham in a variety of roles, including as a Sports Coach, Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant or Mentor roles. This is a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates to try a new career path. You will be fully supported by Cover People and the school whilst you build confidence.

Position: Aspiring PE Teacher (Graduates)Location: Oldham (Secondary Schools)Employment Type: Full time or Part time, Mon to Fri 8:30AM to 3:30PM (flexible on the days)

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Be a stand-in for class teachers to manage classroom behaviour
  • Support the delivery of engaging and interactive lessons.
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning and classroom management.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students.
  • Inspire and motivate students to develop an interest in a particular subject
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • BSc or equivalent, MSc or PhD OR Certificate of Education or relevant coaching badges
  • A passion for education and working with young people
  • Confidence to supervise and manage classrooms
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Cover People UK.
  • No teaching experience required, but experience working with children or in a school setting is beneficial
