Role Overview:
As a History Teacher at the school, you will inspire and engage students with the rich and diverse world of history. You will be responsible for delivering lessons that foster a passion for learning, a deep understanding of historical events, people, and contexts, all whilst encouraging critical thinking.
You will work closely with your colleagues to develop innovative and effective teaching strategies, ensuring all students reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver engaging and well-structured history lessons to secondary school students across Key Stage 3 and 4 (with the possibility of Key Stage 5 depending on experience).
* Develop and implement creative lesson plans that meet the needs of all students, fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment.
* Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing feedback and support to help them improve.
* Contribute to the development and enhancement of the history curriculum.
* Participate in extracurricular activities and school events to support student development.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices and continually improve teaching and learning.
* Maintain high standards of behaviour management in line with school policies.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:
* A relevant degree (History or a related subject).
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Strong subject knowledge and passion for history.
* Experience teaching history at secondary level (Key Stage 3 and 4) - ECTs are also encouraged to apply!
* Ability to engage and motivate students to achieve their best.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* A commitment to creating a positive and supportive learning environment.

Desirable Skills:
* Experience teaching A-Level History (Key Stage 5) although absolutely not a necessity.
* Familiarity with the latest curriculum developments and teaching methods.
* Experience in using technology to enhance the learning experience.

* Start Date: January 2024
* End Date: End of the academic year (July 2024)
* The role is initially temporary, but we are open to considering applicants for a permanent position should you prove to be a good fit for the school.
* We are happy to consider Early Career Teachers (ECTs) for this role, offering support as you develop in your career.
