I am currently recruiting for a well presented and enthusiastic graduate of PE or Sport for a full time ongoing temporary role as a PE Cover supervisor in a large Ofsted Good secondary academy on the Oldham / Rochdale border.

The role is a full-time temporary role covering a sickness absence.

The Role

Graduate Cover Supervisor

Working hours are 8.20am to 3.20pm Monday to Friday

The role will include:

  • Covering all subjects as a cover supervisor
  • The subjects covered will vary but the absent cover supervisor has a PE background and his timetable is predominantly covering practical boys PE lesson and supervising the boys in the changing rooms.
  • Taking the lead in the absence of the teacher
  • Sole responsibility for teaching and learning
  • Delivering pre-planned lessons
  • Using provided resources to encourage learning
  • Managing the behaviour within the classroom
  • Developing independent study skills and peer learning
  • Pastoral and learning support
  • Managing handover back to the teacher

To join us and be successful in this PE cover supervisor role, you will need to:

  • a minimum of six week's experience in the last 3 years of working with groups of children or teenagers
  • A referee Tradewind can contact to take a detailed reference to account for this experience
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks
  • Provide a CV with full employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification ideally in Physical education, Sports Science Sports management or similar discipline.
  • As this role involves supervising boys in the changing rooms the suitable applicant must be male.
