Are you passionate about supporting students and fostering an inclusive learning environment? Our friendly and supportive secondary school in Oldham is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team, starting in September 2024!

?? Position: Teaching Assistant�? School: An Oldham Secondary School?? Salary: Up to £95 per day?? Schedule: 5 days a week, working from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm?? Start Date: September 2024

?? What We're Looking For:

We are seeking a Teaching Assistant who has the following skills and experience:

  • Qualifications: NVQ 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • Academic Background: A*- C or 9 - 4 grade in G.C.S.E. English and Maths.
  • Training: Willingness to undertake training in relevant learning strategies, such as literacy/Key Stage 3, or specialized curriculum training.
  • Experience:
    • Experience working with or caring for children of secondary school age.
    • An understanding of children's development and learning processes.
    • Awareness of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a school setting.
    • Experience in preparing educational resources.
    • Familiarity with using technological equipment (Excel, Publisher, photocopier).
    • Understanding of inclusion and its application in a school environment.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with students and colleagues.
    • Proficiency in using ICT to support learning.
    • Flexibility to work with students at all levels, recognizing individual needs and learning styles.
    • Adaptability in teaching approach to meet the diverse needs of students.
    • Sensitivity and professionalism when liaising with parents and carers.
    • Ability to promote a positive ethos and act as a good role model.
    • Capacity to work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities.
    • Commitment to continual self-improvement through self-evaluation and learning from others.
    • Flexibility to adapt to the workload demands, including occasional out-of-hours work to support school functions.
    • An excellent attendance record.

  • First Aid Training
  • Experience in assisting students with English as an Additional Language (EAL) who require support in language acquisition.
