Children's Support Worker - SEN School

Location: Oldham Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Children's Support Worker to join our team in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties.
  • Assist students with their learning, social development, and emotional regulation.
  • Work closely with teachers and therapists to implement personalised support plans.
  • Support students with daily routines, classroom activities, and social interactions.
  • Help manage challenging behaviours using positive reinforcement techniques.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with SEN
  • A patient, caring, and resilient approach to working with children.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • A DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
