Prospero Teaching are recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a specialist school in Oldham, Greater Manchester.

The school is for children aged 11-16 years old with moderate and complex learning difficulties, and those on the autism spectrum. Students attending receive a tailored curriculum best suited to their needs and ability and the school offers a fantastic approach to learning.

The role of the LSA is to provide support to both the class teacher and the students, assisting pupils both academically and pastorally across their school day. For this reason, the chosen candidate will be suitably qualified and/or experienced.

The school are looking for someone who is confident, dedicated and excels with working with children.

The role will consist of:

  • Providing tailored support with working with children and SEN
  • Creating a safe environment that allows children to have fun, learn and succeed
  • Academic support 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Assisting the teacher

The ideal candidate:

  • Someone who can demonstrate the necessary nurturing qualities required to work closely with SEN children
  • Ideally with previous experience caring for those with additional needs
  • Teaching Assistant qualification is ideal but not essential
