We are seeking a dedicated Social Work Team Manager to join our fostering team, playing a crucial role in enhancing the well-being of children within the foster care system. This position involves leading a team of social workers, supporting foster families through the licensure process, assessing the suitability of potential foster parents, and providing ongoing support to both children and carers.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Lead and manage a team of social workers in the fostering department.
  • Oversee the licensure process for foster families, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Conduct assessments of potential foster parents to determine their suitability.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to foster families, ensuring the needs of both children and carers are met.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the well-being of children in foster care.
  • Collaborate with other professionals and agencies to promote the best interests of children.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the team and the services provided.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A Social Work degree or equivalent recognised qualification, e.g., DipSW.
  • Registration with Social Work England (SWE).
  • Proven experience managing a team of social workers.
  • Completion of Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) if qualified post 2012.
  • In-depth knowledge of legislation, codes of practice, and issues affecting the client group.
