Children's Duty & Advice Social Worker

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Duty & Advice Social Worker to provide immediate support and guidance to individuals and families in crisis. This role is crucial in assessing needs, offering advice, and coordinating with other services to ensure the well-being and safety of clients in Oldham.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Conduct initial assessments of clients’ needs and risks.
  • Provide immediate support and advice to clients in crisis situations.
  • Offer accurate information and advice on available services and resources.
  • Refer clients to appropriate services and agencies for further support.
  • Coordinate with other professionals and organizations to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all interactions and interventions.
  • Conduct follow-up assessments to monitor clients’ progress.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, other social workers, and external agencies.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and training opportunities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A recognised qualification in Social Work.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience in children’s services, assessment, and intervention.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
