Job Title:Children's Safeguarding & Child Protection Social Worker

Salary:
- Social Worker (Grade 7):£36,648 - £40,221
- Experienced Social Worker (Grade 8):£40,221 - £44,428
- £2,000 Retention Payment
Oldham Council is looking for 17 experienced and committed Children's Social Workers to join our Safeguarding & Child Protection (CP) Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking, supportive team that is dedicated to improving the lives of children and families.

Responsibilities:
- Undertake assessments and develop Care & Support Plans for children and families in need of safeguarding and protection.
- Respond to crisis situations, using appropriate interventions to safeguard children at risk.
- Manage complex caseloads, working closely with multi-agency professionals to deliver high-quality support.
- Prepare reports for court proceedings, case conferences, and reviews, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards.
- Advocate for children and families, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.
- Contribute to a learning culture, sharing skills and mentoring less experienced colleagues.
- Qualifications:Degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England.
- Experience:Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience, ideally in safeguarding/child protection, but we welcome applications from those with experience in other areas such as Assessment & Intervention.
- Skills:Strong assessment, risk management, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge:A thorough understanding of child protection legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Other Requirements:A full driving licence or ability to travel across Oldham.
