Description:
Oldham Council is looking for passionate and committed Social Workers to join ourPermanence Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in securing stable, loving, and long-term homes for children and young people.
As a Permanence Social Worker, you will work to ensure that children in care receive high-quality support and achieve the best possible outcomes. You'll be part of a supportive and enabling workplace with excellent career progression opportunities.

Responsibilities:
  • Undertakeassessments and care planningfor children and young people in care.
  • Develop and implementpermanence plansthat support stability and long-term outcomes.
  • Work closely with foster carers, adopters, and connected carers to ensure the best placement matches.
  • Advocate for children and young people, ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making.
  • Prepare and present reports forreviews, courts, and multi-agency meetings.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality care and support.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications:Degree in Social Work and registration withSocial Work England.
  • Experience:At leasttwo years' post-qualification experience, ideally within safeguarding, child protection, or permanence.
  • Skills:Strong assessment, planning, and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge:Understanding of child development, attachment theory, and permanency planning.
  • Other Requirements:Ability to travel across Oldham.
