Randstad is currently recruiting for a skilled and proactive Social Worker to join the MASH (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub) Team at Oldham Council. This is an excellent opportunity to be on the frontline of safeguarding, working at the first point of contact for vulnerable children and families.

About the Role:
As a MASH Social Worker, you'll play a key role in the initial screening, information gathering, and decision-making process for new referrals. Working closely with police, education, health, and other safeguarding professionals, you'll assess levels of risk and determine the appropriate next steps for children and families in need of support or protection.

You won't hold long-term cases, but your work will directly influence the safety and outcomes of children across Oldham.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Triage and screen incoming referrals from professionals and the public
  • Collate and analyse information from partner agencies to inform decision-making
  • Assess risk levels and identify appropriate interventions or referrals
  • Ensure timely and accurate threshold decisions in line with safeguarding procedures
  • Record clear, evidence-based rationales for decisions made
  • Promote a consistent, child-centred, multi-agency response

Requirements:

  • Registration with Social Work England
  • A recognised Social Work qualification
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Previous experience within a MASH or frontline safeguarding team preferred
