About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join our Safeguarding Team in Oldham. This role offers a unique opportunity to play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people in our community by providing expert support and intervention in safeguarding cases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of children and families to identify risks and formulate protection plans.
  • Develop, implement, and review care plans to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
  • Work collaboratively with children, families, and multi-agency professionals to provide comprehensive safeguarding services.
  • Provide direct support and intervention to children and families in crisis or at risk of harm.
  • Chair and participate in multi-agency meetings, including child protection conferences and strategy meetings.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with statutory requirements and organizational policies.
  • Offer guidance, support, and mentoring to less experienced team members as needed.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding within a statutory setting.
  • Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and professionals.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
