Youth Worker - Full-Time - School-Based - Oldham

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Do you have the skills to engage and support students in overcoming barriers to their education?

We are seeking a dedicated Youth Worker to join a school in Oldham on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with students, helping them to develop their confidence, social skills, and academic progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide mentoring and support to students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
  • Build positive relationships with young people to encourage engagement in education.
  • Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and external agencies to support students' well-being.
  • Plan and deliver interventions to help students develop resilience and coping strategies.
  • Support students with transitions, including reintegration into mainstream education or further education pathways.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people in an educational, youth work, or support setting.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A background in youth work, education, social work, or a related field is desirable.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a positive and constructive way.
  • A relevant qualification in Youth Work, Social Work, Education, or equivalent (desirable).
