ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Prospero Teaching are looking for a Teaching Assistants with a therapeutic approach to work at a specialist school that supports students aged 11-19 years old with significant learning difficulties, autism and complex needs. The school are looking for someone who has supported in a similar setting or a recent graduate with a background in psychology. Alternatively, Support workers from a learning difficulties background would be welcome to apply.

You will be supporting children aged 11+ years old with a number of additional behavioural needs, often classed as complex. Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated and caring individual who can support children on a 1:1 basis or within small groups.

Located close to Oldham centre, the school is located close to major motorway networks and it easily accessed by public transport.

The position is open to all experienced Teaching Assistants and support workers who have some experience in a similar role. Depending on performance the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in a similar setting
  • LEVEL 2 Teaching Assistant/or equivalent and above is preferable
  • GCSE Maths and English and Computer literate
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years
