About Us:On behalf of our client, a dedicated Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) school in Oldham, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Maths Teacher to join their team. The school is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment where every student can achieve their full potential. They cater to students with a range of SEMH needs and are dedicated to delivering personalised support and education.

Role Overview:The ideal candidate will have some experience with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or a strong interest in SEN and a desire to transition from mainstream education into an SEN setting. This role involves planning and delivering engaging and differentiated maths lessons, supporting students' individual needs, and contributing to their overall well-being and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality maths lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEMH.
  • Develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with other staff members, parents, and external professionals to ensure comprehensive support for each student.
  • Support students with their social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching maths at the primary or secondary level.
  • Some experience with SEN or a strong interest in transitioning to an SEN setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving licence.
