Tradewind are recruiting! Are you a talented Special Needs teacher looking for temporary supply work in Oldham?

Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking for teachers with experience of teaching students with social and emotional needs to join a specialist SEMH school in Oldham.

This is temporary supply teacher work to cover sickness absence over winter.

The Role

SEND Supply teachers for flexible day to day bookings and ongoing full-time supply roles.

The role will include:

  • responsibility for teaching and learning
  • Delivering pre-planned lessons
  • Using your own subject knowledge and teaching skills to bring set work to life
  • Pastoral and learning support
  • Managing handover back to the absent teacher
  • Possess the emotional and physical resilience necessary when working with young people with a range of complex communication, behavioural and medical needs.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff, pupils, parents and the multidisciplinary team around the child.
  • Be confident and successful team players able to direct the work of teaching assistants.

While experienced SEND teachers are preferred, if you are a secondary or primary teacher with a desire to move into the SEND sector then daily supply is an ideal opportunity to see an alternative education setting.

The School

Small independent SEMH school for pupils aged 5 to 11

Located in north Oldham.

The school is registered to offer education to up to 20 pupils with a range of needs including ADHD, autism, developmental trauma, anxiety, sensory processing difficulties, dyslexia, and attachment difficulties, amongst other varying needs.

Many children come from challenging home lives or are in residential care homes. Many children attend from outside the Oldham area.

Located close to Tandle Hill Country Park, the small classrooms provide an intimate calm learning space for children with ASD and SEMH.

To join us and be successful in this SEND Teacher role, you will need to:

  • Hold QTS Status or QTLS
  • Recent experience of teaching children with SEND
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks
  • Provide a CV with a full employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK
