Senior SHEQ Advisor

Reed are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality) Advisor to join a well-established civil engineering company with over 40 years of operational history. This role is ideal for someone who is dedicated to promoting best practices in health, safety, environmental, and quality management within a progressive organisation.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Ensure all documentation and activities comply with local, national, and EU HSEQ legislation and standards, as well as company policies.
  • Assist with the management of CDM responsibilities.
  • Create and maintain essential Health and Safety Documentation, including Risk Assessments, Method Statements, COSHH Assessments, Toolbox Talks, and Training Records.
  • Complete accident and incident reporting, investigate any incidents, and identify and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure all safety standards and procedures are being upheld.
  • Support the preparation of tender documentation to ensure SHEQ compliance submissions.
  • Manage and maintain current ISO management system certifications, focusing on compliance, auditing, and continuous improvement, specifically directed at ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.
  • Promote a culture of safety within the organisation through effective communication, continuous training, and employee engagement.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH Qualification or relevant Health & Safety Qualification.
  • Current tickets such as SMSTS/CSR/CSCS card.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Health & Safety, preferably including Environmental and Quality management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant local/national/EU HSEQ legislation and standards.
  • Experience with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 management systems.
  • Strong IT skills and excellent communication skills for liaison with clients and suppliers.
  • Full driving licence.
