Reed Supply Chain & Procurement have now been instructed to source for an Import Operator for our Chelmsford based Logistics client.
Joining a small team in a period of growth, you will oversee and manage the entire forwarding process.
Duties include:
- Ocean freight and the right candidate must be ambitious, with drive and determination.
- Negotiate and book cargo with shipping lines
- Manage documentation flow. This includes bills of lading, packing lists, commercial invoices and certificates of origin and licences
- Ship out of gauge/project cargo
- Coordinate the collection/delivery process and manage this until the final destination
- Work in a small team, covering all aspects of the forwarding process
- Book all movement of modes of freight
- Deal with customer enquiries and request for quotations
What I need from you:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in start to finish Import Seafreight Freight Forwarding operations
- Ideally knowledge of Imports from Far East / Asia FCL/LCL
- Knowledge of customs regulations
- Commercially minded
- Exceptional communication skills
As normal with this industry, this is an office based job
Hours; 9.00am - 5.30pm
