Job Title: Maintenance Plumber
Location: London & Surrounding Counties
Salary: £33,800 £44,200 (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 18:00
Call-Out: 1 week per month (weekend standby £50 + £20 per working hour)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

About Us:
United Drains is a growing plumbing and drainage company specialising in commercial premises across London and the surrounding counties. As part of our ongoing expansion, we are looking for a skilled and motivated Maintenance Plumber to join our professional team.

Role Overview:
The role involves carrying out reactive plumbing maintenance in commercial environments, such as restaurants, offices, and high-end retail. A typical day consists of 23 jobs, with tasks ranging from leak repairs to tap and toilet replacements. Basic drainage work may also be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out general plumbing repairs in commercial kitchens, washrooms, and utility areas
  • Perform maintenance tasks such as fixing leaks, toilet repairs, and tap replacements
  • Undertake basic internal drain unblocking and investigations
  • Prepare and submit quotations where required
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety on all jobs
  • Provide excellent service in high-end and client-facing environments

Desirable Skills (not all essential):

  • City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing & Heating
  • Experience with reactive plumbing in commercial premises
  • Basic drainage knowledge (blockages, jetting)
  • Confidence working independently in high-end locations
  • Good understanding of health & safety practices

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' relevant experience (preferred)
  • Positive, can-do attitude and willingness to work across plumbing and drainage
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Team player with a flexible approach to working hours
  • Full UK driving licence
  • DBS check (required for all plumbing and drainage engineers)
