Accountant | £40-50k | 12 month FTC | Burscough (office based)

Talentedge is supporting an award-winning and fast-growing manufacturing business in the Burscough area in adding an Accountant to their team. This is initially a 12 month FTC with a potential permanent opportunity for the right candidate as the company grows.

They’re looking to strengthen their finance team with an experienced and driven Accountant who can bring structure, accuracy, and insight.

This is a hands-on accounting role suited to an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will take ownership of the month-end close, support the production of accurate management accounts, and ensure compliance across our UK and international operations. As they scale, your role will evolve to support the development of group-level consolidation and enhanced financial reporting processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and deliver the monthly management accounts process, including journals, accruals, and prepayments
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and identifying any variances
  • Maintain fixed asset registers, intercompany reconciliations, and stock valuations
  • Assist with international reporting and statutory compliance in multiple jurisdictions
  • Work closely with the Financial Controller to improve systems and streamline reporting
  • Support the year-end audit process and preparation of statutory accounts
  • Prepare VAT returns and other regulatory submissions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams e.g., operations, sales, logistics, and procurement to ensure accurate cost accounting and inventory control.
  • Support the future development and production of consolidated group accounts
  • Participate in ongoing finance transformation and systems improvements projects

This role would suit someone part-qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience (QBE) with a background in a manufacturing, supply chain or product-based businesses. You will have advanced Excel skills and experience with cloud-based finance systems.
