Specialist Dietitian-Adults - AfC Band: Band 6Base Location: SouthportJob Summary To provide a dietetic service to in-patients in Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals, mainly but not exclusively in nutrition support. The post-holder will manage their own caseload of adult patients - being allocated their own wards which will include medical and surgical wards. As part of the dietetic team, the post- holder will cover and support the clinical workload of other dietitians, e.g. during annual leave. Where appropriate they will provide support to less experienced dietitians within the team. To educate and train other health professionals including nurses, doctors, junior staff and student dietitians in relation to adult nutritional issues. To participate in the supervision of student dietitians on clinical placement and for work experience students. To contribute to policy development on matters relating to nutrition and dietetics.
