Mechanical Design Engineer. Burscough/Ormskirk,£36.000 - £40,000 + Car Allowance.
The role is currently office-based over five days, Monday - Thursday 8-5.30 pm and Friday 8-1.30 pm.
The Client:
Our client is looking to add a Mechanical Design Engineer to the team due to the growth of their services. They are looking to pay up to £40k plus a car or allowance based near Ormskirk. The head of the department has been with the business for several years and is a great person to learn from.
Our client is part of a large engineering organisation based in the Northwest, working on exciting UK projects, including HS2. The ideal candidate will have experience as an engineer and designer within a heavy plant environment. The business partners with its clients to ensure a bespoke service is offered and the objective is reached. The success of many projects, large or small, owes a great deal to the philosophy of creating the right working relationship between its stakeholders.
The Responsibilities:
- They provide solutions ranging from small component designs to large plants or machinery used in the piling industry.
- Design and implement cost-effective equipment or modifications to help improve safety and reliability
- Develop a project spec with colleagues, often including those from other engineering disciplines
- Solve complex problems around the whiteboard, working out solutions, calculations, mathematical modelling and CAD.
- Produce details of specifications for a design
- Recommend modifications following testing.
- Do you have 5 years plus as a Mechanical Design Engineer
The person:
- Ideally, a mechanical engineering degree or relevant qualification with post-grad work experience of at least three years.
- Experienced in 2D and 3D modelling, ideally inventor.
- Worked on designs for heavy plant machinery, maybe within the piling or mining industry.
- And it would be great also if you had experience in piling or mining and Autodesk Vault.
