Head Housekeeper Job - Nr Ormskirk Lancashire - Feb 2025 start - Full-time - £33,000 GPA

Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Head Housekeeper to look after a the running of a large family home. This is an exciting opportunity for a reliable, hard-working and self-motivated individual with good organisational and communication skills. You will be managing the domestic aspects associated with running a family home. They are looking for a candidate to make a long-term commitment. The client is looking for candidates who have had a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role either in a private household or boutique hotel setting.

This will be a hands on role managing a small team of part-time Housekeeping staff.

Duties will include:

  • Organising the cleaning of the main house, additional buildings and outside areas
  • Some hands on cleaning when needed
  • Managing and organising the other part-time housekeeping staff including staff rotas
  • Manage the household utilities, procurement, contractors and general household management
  • Monitor all maintenance requirements for the property, changing light bulbs, organising and overseeing trades and contractors
  • Weekly menu planning and food shopping - occasional help with family cooking
  • Running errands
  • Help with dog care - vets appointments, taking them to the groomers etc
  • Ensure that the property is secure at all times
  • Assisting with events and parties
  • Must be computer literate and be able to manage emails and household expenditure spreadsheets

This will be a full-time role mainly Monday to Friday with flexibility on evenings and weekends if the family are entertaining - hours normally 37.5 hours per week 7.30am to 4pm, 1 hour lunch break.

This is a live out role so you need to be within easy commuting distance of the property
