Are you a Mechanical Engineer with experience in Stress / Strain calculations, vibration and FEA analysis for large scale, heavy duty machinery looking to join a 250 million T/O international powerhouse?

On offer is a Mechanical Engineer position where you will be responsible for signing off designs ensuring calculations are fit for purpose. You can expect to meet clients and suppliers, drive innovation and problem solve on the factory floor.

This company, who established themselves in the 1960's have now seen a multimillion pound turnover, working across a range of sectors, they provide Construction solutions to an impressive client base across multiple industries including piling and rail. They have completed major projects in the UK, taking them from design through to completion.

In this varied role you will work with a tight-knit Research and Development team in the Ormskirk office, as you collaborate with the design team, signing off design calculations. You will put together design specifications and calculations for a range of large plant machinery and hydraulics, as well as conduct occasional site visits across the UK. You will follow the design process from conception, with the chance to see your designs come to life as they are manufactured on site.

This role would suit a Mechanical Engineer with a background in oil and gas / heavy plate fabrication / piling / agricultural machinery / lifting sector, who is looking to join a well-established company, offering a varied work life, excellent progression and training opportunities, all while working on exciting projects.

The Role:

  • Office based role - Monday to Friday (1:30pm finish on Friday).
  • Collaborate with the tight-knit design team as you are involved in continuous R&D.
  • Perform design calculations and sign off on design specifications.
  • Conduct occasional site visits and the option to meet with suppliers.
  • Excellent progression available with company funded training courses.
