Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a passionate and experienced 1:1 SEND Tutor to support a child with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) who is unable to attend school full-time. This rewarding opportunity is through a well-regarded SEND school in Ormskirk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver tailored, 1:1 lessons to meet the child's individual learning needs.
  • Plan and adapt engaging lessons in line with the child's EHCP and school guidance.
  • Provide support in areas such as literacy, numeracy, communication, and emotional well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with the school and parents to monitor progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that helps build confidence and independence.
Essential Requirements
  • Proven experience working with children with SEND, particularly in a 1:1 or small group setting.
  • Strong knowledge of planning and delivering differentiated lessons.
  • Understanding of specific SEND needs, such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or other learning difficulties.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build a trusting relationship with the child and their family.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with children with complex needs.
Desirable Qualifications
  • A teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent tutoring experience.
  • SEND-specific training or qualifications (e.g., Makaton, TEACCH, or similar).
