Job Title: Financial Controller
Location: Orpington, full time office based
Contract Details: Full Time / Permanent
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000

About Our Client: Our client is a rapidly growing packaging company who have grown from a c£6m to c£7.5m turnover company in the last 12 months. Continuing to grow and partner with some of the most reputable brands in their space, they are now broadening their offering to the European market. This is a very exciting to join them as they embark on continued growth and are looking for a Financial Controller to offer strategic support in their journey.
Role Overview: Serving as the foundation of financial operations, you will ensure the company's financial stability and growth. You will deliver timely and accurate reports and forecasts, empowering the management team to make informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing and presenting financial statements (P&L, balance sheets, cash flow statements).
- Analysing financial data to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Developing, managing, and monitoring the company's annual budget.
- Conducting financial forecasting to project future revenues, expenses, and financial performance.
- Identifying variances between actual and budgeted results and advising on corrective actions.
- Establishing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Ensuring compliance with tax laws, financial regulations, and internal policies.
- Managing audits, both internal and external, to validate financial processes and controls.
- Overseeing the company's cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs.
- Optimising working capital and managing short-term financing if needed.
- Conducting financial analysis to support business decisions, such as cost analysis, pricing strategies, and profitability assessments.
- Leading and managing the accounting team, including training, and performance management.
- Managing tax planning to minimise the company's tax liability.
- Ensuring timely and accurate filing of tax returns and managing relationships with tax authorities.
- Monitoring and controlling company expenses to optimise profitability.
- Implementing cost-saving initiatives and identifying areas where costs can be reduced.
- Identifying financial risks and implementing measures to mitigate them.
- Overseeing the implementation and maintenance of financial software and systems.
Desirable (knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
- CIMA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- A proven background working with a progressive and growing organisation where you have supported with financial management and reporting
- Proven team leadership skills
- Highly competent user of accounting software packages and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
