Technical Specialist Training Manager
Location: Home-based with national travel required.Working Pattern: Full-time, 35 hours per weekSalary: Up to £55,000, depending on skills and experience
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Specialist Training Manager to play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing the professional development of teaching and assessment staff. This hands-on leadership role will focus on strengthening training provision, ensuring staff have access to high-impact CPD pathways that build confidence, enhance teaching practices, and align with sector expectations.
The RoleAs Technical Specialist Training Manager, you will be responsible for designing and delivering a structured and engaging CPD programme that supports staff at every stage of their journey. From structured onboarding to bespoke CPD pathways and licence-to-practice qualifications, you will ensure all training activities are relevant, impactful, and aligned with quality objectives.
Your responsibilities will include:

Leading the development and implementation of a professional development strategy that enhances teaching, learning, and assessment practices.

Designing and delivering CPD initiatives that ensure staff maintain up-to-date technical and pedagogical expertise.

Overseeing the induction and onboarding process, supporting new staff in their transition and professional growth.

Embedding blended learning approaches that integrate digital learning and practical training.

Aligning training initiatives with quality improvement objectives and sector best practices.

Managing the delivery and quality assurance of internal training and professional development qualifications.

Evaluating the impact of CPD activities through data-driven insights and staff feedback.

Collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure professional development activities drive continuous improvement.

Maintaining a comprehensive training and qualification matrix, ensuring compliance with mandatory training requirements.

Producing regular reports on CPD participation, training effectiveness, and staff development progress.
The ideal candidate will be a confident and experienced learning and development professional with a track record in designing and delivering CPD programmes for teaching and assessment staff. You will bring a strong understanding of apprenticeship training, Ofsted best practices, and vocational education, ensuring that staff are well-equipped to provide high-quality training experiences.
Essential Skills & Experience:-
Degree-level qualification or relevant industry experience in education, training, or professional development.

Level 4 or higher teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards).

Assessor qualification (e.g., A1, Level 3 TAQA).

Strong experience in designing and delivering CPD initiatives for training and assessment professionals.

Sound knowledge of apprenticeships, Ofsted's Education Inspection Framework, and industry best practices.

Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and digital learning platforms.

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.

Leadership or management qualification (e.g., ILM, CMI Level 5 or above).

Coaching and mentoring experience.

Internal Quality Assurance qualification (e.g., V1, Level 4 TAQA) (or willingness to work towards).

Advanced qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical services.

Experience in digital learning design.
