Grafton Banks Finance is assisting a large infrastructure business in Orpington, Kent, (Hybrid), with the recruitment of a Finance Business Partner. Candidates need to be fully qualified (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) and possess previous experience of project accounting or long-term contract accounting within either the construction, engineering, facilities management, or related sectors to apply. The purpose of the role is to provide financial leadership and support to the Directors & wider team to drive sustainable and profitable performance of the business sector / contract. Strive for constant improvement to raise standards in key decisions areas, taking a forward-looking and commercial view supported by a strong technical toolkit and the ability to breakdown and articulate different options and influence decisions.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Working with the FD in provision of divisional management information in line with Group and Divisional MD requirements (month-end reporting packs).
- Bi-weekly cashflow forecasts
- Key bridge between Finance and Commercial Teams:
- Assist project team QS in production & review of monthly Cost Valuation Reports
- Processing monthly contract accounting
- Project credit control
- Review of Cost Valuation Reports, attendance at monthly reviews
- Labour allocations, staff utilisation
- Ensuring costing accuracy
- Ensuring the correct IT set-up of new projects and employees
- Budgeting and re-forecasting
- Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Key involvement in introduction of new ERP / IT systems
- Ensure implementation of new ways of working are successful and effective
- Assist with ensuring full VAT, CIS, PAYE compliance on company contracts. Escalate issues if required.
- Other duties as maybe directed by the pillar management team or Group Finance.
