About the Role:

We are working with a leading Tier 1 Property Services contractor that is renowned for delivering high-quality planned maintenance services within the social housing sector. Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, we are looking for an experienced Estimator to join their team in Dartford.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of tenders for planned maintenance projects, primarily focusing on housing associations and local authorities. You will play a key role in the pre-construction phase, ensuring that all estimates are accurate, competitive, and in line with client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for planned maintenance tenders within the social housing sector.
  • Work closely with clients, including housing associations and local authorities, to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Liaise with the project team and supply chain to obtain accurate pricing and ensure value for money.
  • Analyse tender documents and provide detailed breakdowns of all costs, including labour, materials, and overheads.
  • Manage the tender submission process, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Provide cost advice and solutions to the project team to support the successful delivery of projects.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, material costs, and industry standards to ensure competitive tender submissions.
  • Support senior management in strategic decision-making related to tenders and pricing.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Estimator within the social housing sector, ideally working on planned maintenance projects.
  • Strong understanding of housing association and local authority contracts.
  • Experience preparing accurate tenders, with a focus on cost estimation, bill of quantities, and pricing.
  • Excellent knowledge of materials, labour costs, and the supply chain.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to analyse complex information.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.
  • Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction, or a related field is desirable.
