Spinwell is recruiting for a HR Workforce & Pensions Lead for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE HR WORKFORCE & PENSIONS LEAD

The HR Workforce & Pensions Lead will be responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of the HR Workforce team, associated payroll procedures and pension administration, ensuring the delivery of a high quality and professional service through planning, organisation, and delegation.

The postholder will establish and maintain systems and processes, ensuring that each stage of the payroll process is actioned correctly, to facilitate the timely and accurate delivery of the monthly payroll. In addition, the postholder will be required to manage complex calculations and enquiries, provide specialist information and advice to staff and managers as required and assist colleagues within the team with more complex queries.

The client currently has three separate pension providers (NHS, Nest and Scottish Widows) and the HR Workforce & Pensions Lead will be required to deal with pensions administration and queries / issues in relation to all of these and any new providers.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE HR WORKFORCE & PENSIONS LEAD

Educated to degree level, or equivalent academic standard / experience

Professional payroll qualification

Evidence of continuing professional development

Specialist knowledge and understanding of statutory regulations, such as PAYE, NI, and statutory benefits

Knowledge of NHS Terms and Conditions of Service

Knowledge of records management, information governance and data protection standards

Knowledge of pensions administration in a payroll setting

Knowledge of NHS payroll and pensions

Significant experience of working within a specialised payroll role

Management experience

Experience of using a computerised payroll administration system

Experience within an NHS payroll function

Experience of using the Electronic Staff Record (ESR) system
