JRRL are seeking a Workroom Manager for their client - a local company creating handmade curtains and roman blinds. Due to the continuing expansion, our client is now looking to hire a Workroom Manager, working on site and supporting in running a busy team of 6 sewing staff.

Full time - Monday to Friday 7.30am till 3pm 

As the Workroom Manager, you will be responsible for various key tasks, including:

  • Overseeing a team of 6 sewing staff (3 full-time and 3 part-time) to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Managing quality control processes to maintain high standards for completed items.
  • Handling manufacturing queries from both staff and clients.
  • Co-ordinating client and supplier communications.
  • Taking responsibility for ordering materials to ensure seamless workroom operations.
  • Scheduling and managing staff rotas.
  • Handling invoicing and ensuring timely payment.
  • Using pricing software to accurately price jobs.

Person specification for the Workroom Manager:

  • Must have a love of fabrics.
  • Ideally someone that has experience of making curtains or blinds.
  • Confident with administration tasks such as invoicing and scheduling of staff rotas.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the confidence to speak to clients.
  • Confident with quality control and raising issues around this.
