Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of design engineers, promoting excellence and professional growth
- Perform regular reviews, identify skill gaps, and offer training opportunities
- Oversee solar PV system designs for residential, commercial, and utility projects, ensuring compliance and optimizing efficiency.
- Collaborate with project managers to align designs with project timelines and budgets.
- Provide technical guidance, address challenges, and implement design optimisations to improve performance and reduce costs.
- Stay updated on solar technologies, adopting new tools and best practices.
- Maintain quality assurance, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with regulations and health & safety standards.
- Act as the primary point of contact for technical queries and support the sales team with technical insights.
- Drive process improvements to streamline operations and enhance efficiency
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations and reports for stakeholders.
- Support the sales team by providing technical insights during the pre-sales phase
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive initiatives to streamline operations.
Skills and experience required:
- 5+ years in solar PV system design and engineering
- 2+ years in a leadership or management role
- Strong technical expertise in solar PV systems, design principles, components, and grid integration
- Proficient in design and simulation tools (e.g., AutoCAD, PV*SOL)
- Excellent leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills
- Strong analytical abilities to address complex technical challenges
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder management
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and compliance
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, NEC, BS EN)
