Are you a skilled and motivated Senior Structural Engineer looking to join a dynamic team?
Our client has an exciting opportunity for a senior engineer where you will work on high-profile projects, collaborating with some of the largest retailers and developers in the UK. The projects we undertake range in value up to 150m, offering a great mix of challenges and opportunities for professional growth.
There is an ongoing diverse workload, with a particular focus on sectors such as food & retail, medical, and large commercial buildings. This is an ideal environment for someone eager to enhance their expertise and further their career in structural engineering pride ourselves on delivering outstanding service to a well-established client base, fostering long-term, positive relationships.
The successful candidate will possess strong client-facing abilities and at least 5 years of experience in structural engineering. Ideally, you will be Chartered, or at least on the path towards Chartership, with the company offering support in achieving this.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead structural design work for a variety of projects across the food & retail, medical, and commercial sectors.
- Prepare and present technical reports following site visits and at various project stages.
- Collaborate with Revit technicians to produce CAD/BIM models, ensuring timely project delivery.
- Contribute to achieving net-zero carbon construction goals and engage in continuous professional development (CPD).
- Conduct site inspections and collaborate closely with clients, architects, consultants, and contractors.
- Represent the company at client and industry meetings.
- Ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality service, meeting design requirements, deadlines, and budgets.
- Proficient in using Tekla Structural Designer or similar FEM analysis/design software.
- Strong knowledge of structural design using various building materials, including steel, reinforced concrete, timber frames, and traditional builds, particularly in large-scale projects.
- Ability to take on responsibility in a team-oriented environment, with the autonomy to work independently when needed.
- Experience in managing the financial aspects of projects is an advantage.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng/BSc or MEng/MSc).
- Chartered or close to Chartership status.
