The Company:
 Â
Our client is a growing, reputable main contractor with a strong track record across education and healthcare sectors, recently moving away from high-end residential projects.
 Â
With a current turnover of £7m and ambitions to grow to £10m, they’re securing places on key frameworks such as the Academy of State and Bromley Council.
 Â
They deliver high-quality refurbishments and fit-outs, and with a healthy pipeline of public sector projects, they are now looking for a driven Quantity Surveyor to support continued expansion.
The Opportunity:
 Â
This role is ideal for a young, hungry Quantity Surveyor with experience in fit-out, refurbishments, or public sector projects, who is looking to step into a pivotal position within a close-knit commercial team.
 Â
You’ll report directly into the Senior QS/Commercial Manager, while supporting and mentoring an Assistant QS. This is a great opportunity to grow into a leading commercial role as the business scales.
 Â
Based full-time from Orpington office, with site visits expected regularly. No WFH on offer, however, may be more flexibility over time.
Your Role Will Include:
- Supporting the Senior QS/Commercial Manager across multiple projects.
- Running your own smaller-scale schemes.
- Preparing and monitoring cost budgets.
- Producing and reviewing valuations and payment notices.
- Estimating costs including materials and subcontractors.
- Occasional travel to live sites for measurement and progress updates.
- Collaborating with site and project teams to manage variations and claims.
Experience Required:
 Â
- 3–5 years’ experience with a Main Contractor or Fit-Out/Refurb specialist.
- Background in education, healthcare, or public sector frameworks desirable.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying.
- Highly motivated and commercially aware.
- Able to thrive in a dynamic, growing business environment.
- Ideally be local, or in commutable location.
Package:
 Â
- Salary from £50,000 up to £70,000 (all-in), depending on experience.
- Supportive team environment and direct access to senior leadership.
- Career development with a fast-growing contractor.
Interview Process:
 Â
- Informal coffee with Directors.
- Formal office meeting with senior management included.
- Site walk-through and final discussion.
