Are you a compassionate, professional and dedicated SEMH Teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of children? We are seeking a SEMH Teacher for a vibrant school with students aged 4-16 in Orpington specialising in supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health issues.
In this rewarding SEMH Teacher role, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom working with students who cannot be in mainstream school will help develop individualised learning plans that promote engagement, independence, social skills, literacy and numeracy skills. In this job, you will be able to focus on and develop one subject for students across students in KS3-4
The School
The successful SEMH Teacher applicant would be joining a dedicated SEMH school in Orpington for children who cannot be in mainstream school and benefit from a smaller and more individualised learning process. The school provides a range of unique enabling environments, both indoor and outdoor, which are used to maximise learning opportunities and meet pupil's specific needs and allows the students to gain independence and life skills. The school also boasts its own farm!
SEMH Teacher Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement personalised educational programs.- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including educational psychologists.- Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere.- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting approaches as the SEMH teacher in the classroom.- Engage with parents and caregivers to support student development at home and in school.
- Work with and lead a support team within the classroom.
SEMH Teacher Qualifications- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience of working with students who cannot be in mainstream school.- Experience working in a special needs education setting is preferred.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
