Day-to-day of the role:
- Plan and deliver targeted intervention programs to support students with SEMH needs.
- Work closely with classroom teachers to identify students requiring additional support.
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans to address specific learning and behavioural needs.
- Monitor and assess the progress of students receiving interventions, adjusting strategies as needed.
- Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and other professionals to provide comprehensive support for students.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the well-being and academic achievement of all students.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of intervention sessions and student progress.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience working with children with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of intervention strategies and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
- Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or a related field are desirable.
