Day-to-day of the role:

  • Plan and deliver targeted intervention programs to support students with SEMH needs.
  • Work closely with classroom teachers to identify students requiring additional support.
  • Develop and implement individualized intervention plans to address specific learning and behavioural needs.
  • Monitor and assess the progress of students receiving interventions, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and other professionals to provide comprehensive support for students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the well-being and academic achievement of all students.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of intervention sessions and student progress.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of intervention strategies and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or a related field are desirable.
