This is an opportunity to join a leading FMCG manufacturer for their site in Wakefield. They are seeking an apprentice-trained and experienced Process Control Engineer to join their established team, working days (Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm) on their site in Wakefield.

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Carrying out risk assessments with the relevant people and put controls in place to minimise the risk to acceptable levels where reasonably practicable.
  • Carry out electrical project work from concept to installation.
  • Resolving technical electrical breakdowns solely and via supporting on shift engineers.
  • Backup of onsite equipment including server systems, HMI/SCADA systems, PLC's, motor drives and servo systems.
  • Writing of one-point lessons for site/engineers on recent projects or improvements completed.
  • Actively gain as much information as possible from production personnel regarding the fault on the machine to speed up the fault-finding process.
  • Ensure engineering logs and computer systems are fully filled in with all relevant information including PM/job work order numbers, all used parts, plant asset numbers, including raising part requisitions.
  • Ensure all communications with external persons are conducted in a professional manner which reflects the company profile.

About you:

  • HNC trained or above.
  • Have extensive experience of maintaining a live manufacturing plant post apprenticeship.
  • Ideally, food manufacturing sector experience.
  • Have the correct right to work in the UK without expiry.
  • Have experience working as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer in a production environment in the UK.
  • Work collaboratively with a team of engineers and production professionals.
  • PLC knowledge (mainly Siemens, but other PLCs knowledge is advantageous)
  • Be continuous improvement focused.
