Join a leading business as a Plant, Fleet & Depot Manager. This role is crucial for managing the internal plant and fleet department to ensure all legislative compliance requirements are met and service commitments to internal customers are upheld in line with our company objectives.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Compliance Management: Ensure the plant and fleet comply with all legislative regulations and undertake audits to confirm adherence to correct processes.
  • Maintenance Oversight: Manage maintenance schedules to identify and address issues early, preventing major problems.
  • Operational Efficiency: Oversee operations and services to construction sites, aiming to improve processes and increase efficiency.
  • People Management: Manage staff understanding of roles and expectations, arrange training for new and existing drivers, manage driver discipline, and hold annual appraisals with key staff.
  • Communication: Maintain regular communication within the department and with the business on general operating matters and best practices.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize systems to track plant and vehicle performance, analyse data to identify problems and improve efficiency.
  • Cost Control: Monitor fuel, maintenance, and repair costs to keep expenses under control.
  • Reporting: Provide reports to management on fleet budgets, schedules, maintenance, and monthly SHEQ performance.
  • Incident Investigation: Investigate all damage and safety incidents in accordance with company procedures.
  • Supplier Negotiation: Negotiate with suppliers for parts and services.
  • Customer Service: Ensure a high level of customer service and respond to complaints.
  • Asset Management: Provide data and recommendations for plant and fleet selection and procurement.
  • Depot Management: Oversee depot operations to ensure safe and compliant operation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role within a related industry.
  • Holder of ‘O’ licence CPC.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Strong mentoring and leadership abilities.
