Accomplish Today are recruiting a Business Development Manager to develop and manage a pipeline of new business opportunities, driving significant revenue growth for national bulk liquid products. This role involves close collaboration with the General Manager of Tankers and other commercial teams within the Specialist Services division.You will be responsible for enhancing sales returns through strategic management of sales activities and processes.

You will have the scope to drive the return on sales through planned, objective management of their sales activities and process. You will also be instrumental in ensuring that our client stays 'ahead of the game with respect to service offering, business model and operating methods.

An Outline Of The Role

The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and driving new business opportunities for National Bulk Liquid services within the Specialist Services division. This role involves exploring the market to engage with direct customers, focusing on the collection and transportation of their waste liquids by maximizing the use of our national road tanker fleet.

The ideal candidate should bring strong commercial expertise in the waste industry, with experience in sectors such as Industrial & Commercial, Hazardous Waste, Brokerage, or Waste Tankers. This position offers an excellent opportunity to expand into a specialized area of waste management, with full support and training provided to help the candidate become the leading commercial expert in the National Bulk Liquids business.

Responsibilities Within The Role

  • Identify, explore, and manage new business opportunities to enhance and expand the bulk liquids product sector.
  • Actively pursue and secure profitable new business aligned with operational strengths to meet and exceed quarterly and annual targets.
  • Develop and oversee a comprehensive new business pipeline, providing a clear forecast of expected volumes and surpassing targeted sales revenues.
  • Generate regular reports on activity and pipeline status to offer commercial and operational stakeholders insight into current and upcoming activities.
  • Collaborate closely with the General Manager of tankers to implement a growth strategy that meets business needs.
  • Maintain and manage data within the CRM platform to support relevant marketing campaigns.
  • Regularly coordinate with other commercial teams to share pipelines and best practices.

What We Require From You

  • Proven track record in developing, managing, and implementing new business services
  • General understanding of the waste sector
  • Strong skills in presentation, sales, negotiation, and influence
  • Articulate, confident, and assertive
  • Analytical, with the ability to quickly assess issues and recommend or implement solutions
  • Capable of collaborating effectively with internal departments, potential customers, and other organizations
  • Resilient and able to handle pressure positively
  • Experience in building and maintaining customer relationships
  • Practical approach to meeting tight deadlines and targets
  • Proficient in planning, organising, and prioritising tasks
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and negotiating outcomes
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • Effective communicator with a strategic mindset and strong teamwork abilities
  • Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths; A-Levels or a degree are advantageous
