Senior Accountant / Portfolio Accountant

Adele Carr Recruitment is delighted to present a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and experienced Chartered/Certified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) or an individual qualified by experience to join a dynamic and supportive team. This is a senior role within the accounts department, offering the chance to manage a portfolio of clients and mentor junior team members, while helping clients achieve their personal and business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a portfolio of clients, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of a range of high-quality accounting and tax compliance services.
  • Review accounts for sole traders, partnerships, limited companies, and charities, where work has been prepared by the team.
  • Prepare tax computations, self-assessment returns, corporation tax returns, CGT residential property submissions, and accounts.
  • Engage directly with clients to discuss accounts, tax planning, and provide financial advice.
  • Supervise, mentor, and review the work of trainees, ensuring development and growth within the team.
  • Manage work-in-progress levels and client billing.

Candidate Requirements:

  • ACA/ACCA qualification or a minimum of two years' experience at manager level within an accounting practice.
  • Proven experience reviewing accounts and preparing tax returns for a variety of business structures.
  • Strong working knowledge of income tax, corporation tax, and capital gains tax.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines, prioritise tasks effectively, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong client relationship management.
  • Experience supervising and supporting trainees.
