LV Recruitment has partnered with an academic establishment based in the heart of Oxford and is recruiting for a full-time and permanent Assistant Management Accountant to join their small and close-knit team.

This established department has created the role to ensure the smooth running of the department, to be a hands-on manager with a plan to supporting the team once up to speed and as the role evolves.

The role of Asssistant Accountant reports to the College Accountant and is a crucial position within the department.

Responsibilities

  • Budgeting & reporting, Monthly management accounts, quarterly VAT & supporting with the annual budget and in-year forecasts
  • Finance and process systems, process & system improvement. Develop internal control procedures for main and specialist transactions such as student fees, grants & bursaries.

Experience

  • Professional Accounting qualification (ideally ACA/ACCA)
  • You will need to enjoy line management and have some experience of this within a previous role
  • Recent experience within a similar role
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Flexible and supportive attitude with a desire to lead by example
  • Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills

Previous experience within another college is not essential. This role would suit someone who perhaps wants to move out of practice or from a charitable organisation or a commercial role. The most important thing is the management style and fit for this loyal team.

The salary is £45,000 - £51,000 for a 35-hour working week, however, we can also consider less hours if required. Due to location, there is no parking so please ensure you can commute to the High Street in Oxford before applying. Currently, the role is full-time on-site.
