COMMERCIAL ACCOUNTANT - UP TO £45K - 12 MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT - APRIL START DATE - HYBRID - OXFORD]

Robert Half are thrilled to be working exclusively with an innovative organisation in Oxford that are looking for a full-time Commercial Accountant to join their close-knit finance team for a 12 month fixed term contract to cover materntiy leave.

Responsibilities:

  • Raise and process invoices, ensuring month-end deadlines are met.
  • Issue and match credit notes as needed.
  • Manage the AR inbox, resolving queries promptly.
  • Help allocate cash received to customer invoices.
  • Reconcile AR ledgers monthly, investigating discrepancies.
  • Chase overdue payments and issue dunning letters.
  • Raise and post all Revenue and Cost of Sales journals.
  • Identify missing Revenue and Cost of Sales postings, working with Customer Excellence and Logistics to resolve missing delivery and SAT dates.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for deferred revenue and expenses, identifying and resolving reconciling items.
  • Support in delivering monthly Revenue and Gross Margin reporting, investigating and explaining variances to budget.
  • Update and distribute bookings and backlog reports to the business.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the broader O2C process, assisting with routine financial queries, including confirming financial details (e.g. bank letters).

Requirements:

  • AAT qualified.
  • Recent experience of accounts receivable/credit control.
  • Experience of double entry accounting.
  • Good Excel and communication skills.
  • CIMA/ACCA part qualified desirable, but not essential.
